Understand your "Intelligence" or personality will help you to understand how you learn best, so you can study and retain information more effectively. This will also help you too comprehend why you act think and feel the way that you do.

The theory of Multiple intelligences Come from Howard Gardner. His in depth studies suggest that we all have a different life patterns and thinking capabilities. When we look at what our individual learning style is, it will be easier to create a learning agenda that plays to our strengths.

The 8 Intelligences are as follows:

• Linguistic intelligence or (Word smart) Having well developed spoken and written language skills and uses language to remember information,

• Logical-mathematical intelligence or (number/reasoning smart) Strong capacity to analyze problems. Effective in detecting patterns and a logical thinker.

• Spatial intelligence or (picture smart) Visual learners, often use patterns to complete a task. Memorize information by viewing it.

• Musical intelligence or (music smart) Have skills in composition and performances. An appreciation for music structure. Musical and Linguistics are alike intelligences

• Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence or (body smart) Often uses body to help solve problems . Believed to have "mental abilities to coordinate movement

• Intrapersonal intelligence or (self smart) Has a good understanding of ones self. Appreciates emotion. A self thinker and problem solver.
  

• Interpersonal intelligence or (people smart) Have the ability to read and understand others, their desires, intentions and feelings. Work well with others, strong leadership abilities.
  

• Naturalist intelligence or (nature smart) Added to the list in th late 90's. These learners are hands on and enjoy the outdoors. They can have a deep understanding of the environment and often find answers through experiences.
  

It is important to know you personal intelligence, but it is also important to learn and practice other intelligences. By understanding how each intelligence work, you can better understand your class mates and work more effectively together.
